Monsters abound... perfect for beginning students wishing to create something a little different – and perhaps a touch scary!
During this 2½ day course students will be taught how to carve grotesques in stone. Creative freedom is the key but emphasis will be placed on shadow, depth and undercut to give their creations personalities and bring them to life.
At the end of the course students will have both an understanding of creating grotesques and be the proud owner of a truly unique artifact for their home.
Throughout the course demonstrations will be given on particular areas of carving together with a hands-on example of working stone with pneumatic tools.
The culmination of the course will be an informal discussion over lunch of work achieved together with advice and pointers for those students wishing to further their understanding of the medium.
Tools For Sale
A selection of stone carving tools supplied by G. Gibson are available for students to purchase at cost during courses.
